Hi everyone. Have some trouble with my 2013 FL2 recently by where it really struggles to start in the cold. Once the engine is warm then no problems. No problems on a warm day either. Glow plugs, glow plug relay/control module, and battery have been replaced but not changed anything. Battery also has a second earth connected to the starter motor to try and help. No error codes register on a garage diagnostic either. Any help much appreciated. Thanks all

Have a look at the +ve electrical connections to the starter motor solenoid. Could be they need cleaning up.

Thanks for the response, I got that checked when the new battery went in and all was ok. Fuel rail pressure is also ok as that was another idea

Yes the 5V plugs were fitted so should be ok. Glow plug light comes up on the dashboard in the morning when cold but not when warm so should be working

The glow plugs aren't used for starting if the temperature is above 5°C. So if it's not starting above that, then the issue is elsewhere.

Will look elsewhere, cheers for the help. Lots of issues recently sadly. New one today is that the boot latch constantly opens when driving 😂

They can be challenging. Mine has been pretty good for the last 18 months, although it did get off to a rocky start. However last light mine started to make a slight tremble under very light throttle, which is a pain. Something else to sort when I do the head gasket again.

Yeh not ideal is it. Mines in the garage every 3 months or so. Full service history and only 60k miles so not great. Let’s hope it improves soon 😂
