Freelander Diesel S reg XEDI

Been running fine the started to have a problem at 2500 revs it would loss power, take your foot off the throttle push back down and it would be fine, then i started to have problems starting it and now it won't start at all, RAC say that he thought it was the fuel pump but i cant find it not in tanl onot under bonnet, also i have checked the relay thats fine but i have no fuel at the injector pump any ideas

Injector pump IS also the fuel pump i.e it draws it from the tank via the filter and then feeds the injectors
