Head gasket went on 300tdi, took head off, had it skimmed and new head gasket! Gone to start it, just turning over, cracked injector pipes off and seems to be no fuel getting to the injectors. Any ideas.

also popping noise through exhaust while cranking over

thank you

Have you accidentally knocked the fuel pump stop solenoid wire off the pump when doing the head?

Not sure going to check tomorrow, i know i was having issues starting first thing on a morning like fuel was draining back to the tank

Use the primer lever on the lift pump and a 10mm spanner on the bleed bolt on the filter housing to get good fuel up and then see where it goes.

To the right of the diesel filter you can see the lift pump behind on the side of the engine block with two pipes coming out the top, on the bottom of that there is a primer lever and you can use that to manually pump fuel around the system.

Cheers, you got another 12v feed to your fuel pump? Is this due to immobiliser issues?

Used lever underneath could feel it pushing it through, filled new fuel filter up and tried cranking. Just cranking and no feels like no fuel when using lever on lift pump again

Ah yes, the lift pump operation is via a lobe on the cam, if the cam settles with the lift pump compressed then there is no longer any stroke left to have and you need to spin the engine over again to get it to settle off cam.

Can you post a picture of your injection pump please?

Are you still getting 12V at the stop solenoid? Have you tried to bypass it with a wire off the battery positive terminal?

Finally got it running after couple of hours

changed the lift pump, and after a bit of cranking it started. Going to see how it starts after sitting tonight.
Tried giving injection pump 12v and was no different. Not sure if the injection pump is weak or failing slowly
