Hi, another issue with my landy! Diesel 73

Starts, but sometimes need to bleed the fuel first, always have to give plenty of heat then crank her over for ages.
Starts pretty well again if stopped and started again soon after.
If left fuel seems to be leaking back?!? have put a non-return valve just before filter which has helped but still happens....lift pump was suggested to me as possible problem..........

any other ideas?

cheers nick

stick a bit of clear pipe up near the injectors. You can see if air is getting into the fuel then. Have you checked all fuel pipes and connectors?

lift your boot mat m8,under there you will find a plate..undo the screws and you can see your sender unit with two pipes coming off this, usually rotten and allowing the vacuum to be broken leaking fuel back down the line and bad starting.these usually cost £70.00 ish and quite easy to fit

Boot mat in a Series 3? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I would be going with lift pump mate :) Is there much resistance when you prime it by hand?

I didn't twig the age myself. That'll mean no stop solenoid anorl. It'll have a pull cable engine kill.:D:D:D
