I have had a 200tdi engine put in but i think the starter ring hasnt been done, engine wont start 1st time but allways does 2nd time rnd, will it be ok or does engine have to cme out again ;-( paul

What do you mean "hasnt been done"? If it's loose, i'd not even start the engine. But then, it's unlikely she would only start on second try if only the starter ring is loose (I suppose its an auto box then)
So, what engine, auto or manual, and how doesnt she start on first time? Does the starter turn? Does the engine turn? Any funny sounds etc etc

It the same noise as faulty starter motor, engine doesnt turn 1st time but does second, an i bin told could be starter ring? Wil try changing motor and hope to god that all it be lol Im no mechanic lol it a manual had an old 19j engine inbefore
