Starter motor on my 200tdi won't engage the bend with the ring gear after being in a fire..doesn't seem to have a lot of oomph even when 12v is applied directly to the terminals.
The cheap britpart ones seem to work okay, not the best but mines still working, Ive gone through a few 200 starters each time due to water/mud ingress.
