Well after getting the 90 home and then jet washing it and finding all the holes and bodging that had been done to the chassis I have now started the strip down ready for a new galved chassis. Is there a gasket that goes at the top of the gearbox? Looks like a oil leak from the top.

Glad I'm doing it now. Went round it all with a hammer and lots more than I thought. Also the front prop was changed just before I got it and all the bolts were hand tight .

sounds like your doing a good job, scary them loose bolts/bad workmanship moments I had a few when i was stripping mine. :p

Cheers guys.
Will be calling Marshalls soon for chassis. Will do all brake pipes and rubber etc at the same time as I hope to be keeping it for some time to come ( I hope ).
I had to stop and think to myself did I undo the bolts and just forgot to carry on but I know I didnt so double checking everything on it now. Was the top of the box easy to do as I dont want to take the top off and things fly everywhere lol.

some pics from today,

I've not done it yet, but it is just a paper gasket underneath the top cover which I think comes off fairly easily. Is yours 300 or a 200 cos the gearboxes are different and I'm not sure about the 300 gearbox

no r380 doesnt use gaskets ,silicone sealant is good ,make sure mating surfaces are oil free with brake clean etc,oil will also be coming out under hi/lo lever too there is a gasket there but again silicone will do
