Hi All,

I have a 1998 Disco 1 with the 3.9 V8, I have an intermittent problem where when I start the engine on petrol from cold, it starts fine, first turn of the key, it runs for a few minutes then the revs struggle and it wants to stall. I put a few revs on to keep it going and there is a smell of petrol.

If it was just the stalling part I would say fuel starvation but with the smell of petrol I am not sure where to start looking.

When I switch over to LPG the engine runs like clockwork.

Can anyone give me a point in the right direction.

Cheers

John

theres a temp sensor on front of lhs inlet manifold ,fuels increased for cold start then weakened they can fail meaning your running too rich
