Hi
i have just starting restoring a 56 series 1 and was wondering if anyone knows whether a series 2 footwell will fit a 56 series 1.
I have just completed a sereis 2a restoration, (complete stripdown) and had the idea to fit a left hand side footwell from a rhd vehicle and a right hand side from a lhd vehicle. the parts are readily available and all that I would need to do would be to drill the pedal holes.
any help appreciated

Welcome to the forum David.
Don't have any experience of working on Series 1s, but I guess the principle is the same: you can make anything fit if you try hard enough (no - not like that )
I know that the series 2 was very different to the series 1 (unlike the series 3, which was mainly a cosmetic update of the 2a) so you'll probably find that the footwells from a series 2 are a different shape/size to the s1 jobbies. Might be worth giving John Craddocks a call - they're supposed to be good with series 1s.
