Hi all, I've noticed for a while now my clutch pedal 'squeaks' loudly when depressing and releasing, Is something about to happen to my clutch (its an 02 TD4 by the way) or does it just need a bit of WD40 or something, has anyone else experienced this as its driving me nuts !!

If it is just the pedal a bit of oil or the wd40 wont go amiss , but a common fault on this forum is curling tongs fallen underneath. . .:) :)

Thanks for the advise, but a mate of mines just had to have his clutch replaced and it started with the squeaky pedal, and you know LR mechanics they charge you 200 quid just for turning up at the garage !!

Oil the pedal pivot point. The clutch is a long way from the pedal so couldn't be that sqeaking.
You may find you have a mouse under the pedal and when pressed if sqeakes for mercy. Poor mouse :(

yup its just the spring dry on the clutch pedal, use a ptfe based lube, make sure you get it in the spring fixing points,

failing this it could be your hydraulics which have also been know to squeek during operation.

Oil the spring, if your master was going to fail there would most likly be fluid all over the cylinder and down the pedal.
