Hi,
Just noticed a high pitched sqeaking type of noise on my 02 Freelander TD4. Not so bad at high speed but really noisy when idling. Any help will be really good.

could be cambelt tensioner bearings then, or acessory belt tensioner bearings, or alternator bearings, or the back of the steering pump belt is knackered, time to start puffing a little talcum powder on the belts to see if the noise goes indicating worn out belts

had this a while back on mine, thought it was water pump. turned out the auxiliary drive belt had somehow moved over two ribs, and had shredded the outer two ribs off.

worth a visual...
