Hi All
I am going to replace the shocks and springs on my 95 300Tdi as they look to be original and she is rolling all over the place. I regualy tow a 1.5ton caravan with her and do allot of greenlaning, so i am looking for a set-up which will work for these conditions.

I was looking at monroe adventure shocks all round with police spec springs front and rear (i will soon be fitting a winch to the front of my disco)

Can anyone advise me on if this set-up would suit my needs, and also what the part numbers are of the police springs and where to buy them, i know paddocks sell cheap ones but i have read mixed reviews about them.

Thanks
Rob

No such thing as police spec springs for a disco that spring was for the RRC which has SLS, disco ones are just heavy duty HD.

Land-Rover have stopped supplying springs so you will have to go the after-market route and that can lead you into a mine field.

If you still have the original springs and your disco has done a high mileage therefore the springs are worn and "rolling all over the place" that will be normal, but your disco didn't leave the showroom like that, there's nothing wrong with the standard springs and dampers.

There are comparison charts for springs on the www and somewhere in the forums showing standard and HD disco springs plus their colour codes, you will have to go that way if you will be increasing the weight at the front of your disco with a winch.

As said above the winch will put a lot of weight over the front so HD springs may be the way forward and it will help with towing.
If you get HD springs I've only heard good things about bearmachs blue HD springs also I'll be fitting them to mine next month.
As for shocks dependent on your budget I've got bilstien shocks all round and it made a huge to the ride quality even with my knackered bouncy springs!

I had blue bearmachs on mine but I wasnt very impressed so I changed them for a full heavy duty terra firma set up ?

I've got a 2" lift using Terra-Firma regular duty springs and the Pro-Comp ES9000 shocks. I've got a brush bar on the front and racks up top. I run it both fully laden and empty. The set-up works okay, but not great. I would try something else next time.
