Hi,

Read the search results and cant find anything this specific.

Just brought a Series III Landy home, was running fine yesterday when we test drove it, engine recently re-wired, so smooth and great!

But today, owner was driving to mine (to deliver) and after about 30miles, engine starts spluttering and not running properly, but managed to limp home with it just about running. Now its on my drive, and wont run properly at all, just cough's and splutters, sounds like its just not running fast enough to be idling. I cant even get it to move, as it stalls as soon as i put my foot down at all?

From reading other posts, this leads to Coil (all other engine electrics are new), will get one and try. But to me it seems like fuel contamination-the owner has only really driven it round his close, and this was the furthest its ever been, the fuel in it is recent though?

Any thoughts on this would be much appricentated, as i cant wait to get out in the Landy!

Thanks again,

Biosbill

check the glass bowl next to the furl pump fer crap

also pull the furl pipe orf just where it goes into the carb then pump the furl pump a few times see if any furl spurts out of the tube - it if does yer carby might be blocked with some of the junk thats likly to have been sucked up from the tank

check yer pick up in the tank and yer glass bowl as they should filter most of the crap out before it gets to the carbatooter. then check yer flow at carb..

also make sure yer dizzy is secure and not over tighten as most ham fisted ****s tighten the pinch bolt till its 'u' shaped thus rendering it useless later on, so much so that yer dizzy can slip
