Hi can anyone tell me what size the 3 little bolts are that hold the speedo cable into the gear box are? (i only have 2 ) and how long should they be? mine seem very short It's a Series III 109 Thanks.
They're not very long, about 1/2 inch? Not sure what the thread is, though. Mine are round headed screws not bolts. As I've got the gearbox exposed at the mo I could pop one out and measure it a bit later if no one knows. Bet it's a UNC or BA size.
OK - just measured one. Slightly over 1/4 inch thread length, it's a good fit in a "SAE 3/16 AF" die, which I think makes it a UNC thread but I'm not sure what thread size this equates to. Google wasn't too helpful but I'm sure someone here knows.
sorry 2ba by 3/8, thats the size i cut them on mine anyway, bugger to fit with the brake drum in place, should have fitted the cable before i but the back plate and drum on:doh:
