i've just bought my first land rover which is a 1971 series 3 109 with the small rubber mounted side windows,i've been told this was an export model.are any parts hard to get hold of because of that fact?

try the usual places paddocks / craddocks etc.

Landrover Orphanage are really good for very hard to get bits.
