Ive just today, put my spare wheel on the bonnet after finding the fixings in my cellar.

Put it there to free up space in the back.

I think it looks a million times better!

.... Just need to get the green paint out now!!

What do y'all reckon?

Should all series motors have the traditional wheel on bonnet?

.... or do you think elsewhere is better?

Had it on the bonnet, could'nt see Jack ****e off road plus my missus could'nt lift the bonnet to clean under it.
Put it on the back door, buggered the hinges, now lives against the bulkhead behind the seats. Takes up room but hey!
I think the back door is best!!!;) For Looks Anyway.

the spare dose look the best on the bonnet unless you are popeye it a nightmere tp open. i saw a 110 with it bolted to the roof.

Yep
difficult to lift and blocks the view on the bonnet.
Buggers the hinges on the back.
Put it on the bulkhead or in the garage.

I also have an arrangement with a mate of mine who has a couple of spares to come and rescue me and I promise to tow him home if he needs it.

Just what i need, a service crew, fully equiped with Tools, Parts, know how, Tea, Bacon Butties & a deck chair for me while they fix it. Oh dear, dreaming again.;)

used to have it on the bonnet of my old series. looks good but you soon get fed up with it, you cant see a thing, and its bloody heavy. i keep mine in the back now fixed to my roll cage along with my hi-lift. not much space anyway with a cage so not really a problem.

I like the look of them on the back, have seen today at Scorpion Racing, a very good swing away spare wheel carrier with fitting to hold hi-lift jack as well, opens with the door also. Down side £220. So maybe stick to it on the inside.

well on me disco its on the back door and on me series its in the garage ;)

Not much use in the garage!

but if you dont carry a wheel brace and a bottle jack, the spare aint gonna be of much use
!

anyone with a series wont be venturing much further than say 30 miles from home anyways.
and you can always get someone to drop the spare wheel/jack etc.. off for you.

dunno about that..some people stilluse them fer longer trips than that.. and even carry more than one spare wiff them

1600 miles this summer - far enough? 1500 miles planned for this Christmas through Austria!

Oh I am touchy ;)
