Is it a case of just undoing the star bolts and the 2 bolts at the bottom to remove the spare wheel carrier? as my rear window smashed yesterday and there is loads of glass in the carrier that I want to get out.

undo ur rear brake light first, then just undo the bolts and the carrier will come off, just make sure u unthread the brake light wires, cant remember if the rear wash water tube goes through the carrier as well

rubbed mine all down and painted it with hammerite

hope that helps

hi many thanks for the help! just checking before I undid it. will most likely paint it while its off also

for the life of me just couldn't remember

found when i removed it of flaking paint so took a little while rubbing it all down and used the smooth hammerite as it wont be seen and just tidies it up

also put coppaslip on the bolt threads when i put it back

As already said , and I will have do mine again it can trap a lot of crap !
