Hi - another newbie here. Just picked up a 1999 TD5 110 station wagon at the weekend and I only have 1 key fob, which I only now know deactivates the immobiliser. So I figure a spare one would be handy for when I inevitably misplace my keys.

I found this website:
Land Rover Defender Key Fob

which seems pretty straight forward now that I've located the fuse box in front of the gear lever. Just wondering if anyone has a better suggestion?

The one I got with the car is a Lucas 3TXB.

Many thanks...

If you buy a fob, Some one with a nanocom would be able to program it for you, Possibly cheaper than in the link you posted.

I got an extra as new 3TXB off fleabay for a fiver. Many Rover cars use/used the same fobs so there are loads kicking about. I deliberately looked for one that had been a spare that somebody had not used or little used but had sold the car and still had the remote. I then used a borrowed Nanocom to program the extra fob which took about 30 seconds start to finish. I now have my own Nanocom so no need to borrow one. If you can only get a tatty one you can get a refurb kit for a few pounds.

I'm in Bridge of Allan, between Stirling and Dunblane - central Scotland. I'd be very grateful of some help.
