My recently acquired 1988 Defender 110 has turned out to be a bit of a jigsaw puzzle. A set of new seats backs/base has highlighted a problem with the passenger seat frame. Unlike the base of the drivers seat, there is nothing to stop the passenger seat base from moving around.

The drivers seat (picture 1) has a moverable forward/back frame that sits on the runners mounted to the seat box. The passenger side has no frame, moverable or otherwise, just bare runners (picture 2). My guess is that the seat base had been removed to allow easy access the the battery under the passenger seat.

Can anyone enlighten me what type of seat base I need. Presumably these things were pretty standard on Series seats which early Defenders such as mine seems to be using.

I would also welcome any offers of a suitable seat base if you have one rusting away in the corner of your garage.

It should have a movable one aswell, with the standard clip bits for the bases.

I would phone paddocks, and tell them you need the sliding track bit for your passenger side.

Thanks

A kind forum member has now supplied me with the parts that I need from a series. Hopefully it will be quite straight forward to fit once I worked out how to fit the center seat brackets that are part of my curent setup - I suspect that the outer runner is actually a center seat runner so should swap over.
