To my knowledge, Somerset has no byeways. I would need to know more details before actioning it.

If you look at the pic I attached it has location and map. He says it’s legal

Pug 206 says not tonight.

Discovery says it would love to go out but is still rather naked and missing some structural steel.

Any pics?

@suew can you show us who don't do fakebunk some photo's of it broke and stuck?

He didn’t post any Apparently Salisbury 4x4 club got him out. I’m 200 miles away probably

Only just spotted this i'm afraid - on a little bit of a "landrover hiatus" at the moment but very local to me.

For the record, whilst there are no byways in "Somerset", there are a fair few in "Bath and North East Somerset", which is where these are. I have driven most of them many times, and have a map (albeit a few years old) annotated with comments.

I assume the vehicle was stuck on the byway running E-W in the middle of the map? In that case my notes say that it is muddy but passable - its not been that wet here recently, so unless the lane has really deteriorated i would wonder how he had got stuck without going off piste! There is a steep bridleway running from the yellow road to the white UCR. Access to the western end of the byway is of course via the UCR, but i've definitely seen 4x4s on the bridleway, and can't help wondering if that is where he got stuck!

The other byway to the north of the map is a bit of an odd one. The section that goes over the bridge is (or was) blocked off by a barbed wire fence. The dead ended spur that turns into a footpath is a well used farmers track. Access to both involves going through a farmyard and is not signposted as a byway. Clearly a remnant from an earlier time, and not really a welcoming place to drive these days.
