bloody got a lazy lifter after 2000miles!!.best oil you can buy, kent cam run in proper, new lifters. rockers, shafts etc..never drive off untill got full oil pressure, never cane her untill warm oil..
lifter sorts itself out after 10 secs, BUT cant have that!!
so as engine is rather high performance anyway..am wondering about fitting solid lifters..

anyone used them...??or am i going to have to speak to tuner's ( not rpi!)
i DO NOT CARE about adjusting pushrods every so often..i do care about tappy noise and wanting to rev to 6000rpm plus though...
yes i know i may need new can to suit..

thoughts please, anyone here gone solid route??

6000 is high for a rv8, solids will help and adjustment don't be so often but its still lots of work. Did you take some weight off the fly wheel

What valve springs as your risk bounce on standards.

I've used them with a real steel 234 cam. Absolutely mental but no good for a range rover. Smoothed out at 2800rpm peaked around 6250. As for the lifters, fine though induction noise may have drowned them out

dont worry about springs, they will be replaced..really i just so ****ed with hydraluic lifters i wish to fit solid..i dont mind adjusting every so often..

such a shame the japanese didnt build the rv8..me toyota v8 in sally red lines at 8k!(though i set rev .limiter to 7k..)..and no tappet noise!

Hydraulic lifters are fine BUT they must be genuine LR. The aftermarket lifters are....well there ****e. Even rhoads are ****e.
Genuine lifters are happy at 6000 all day long.
