hi all, advice on collision with tree please...

hit it first with corner of front bumper, thats bent right back under the drivers side wing, then i think it caught me wheel, now as far as i can see the only problems/changes are that the steering rod is bent right out of place beyond straightening, the radius arm has gone so far up when it hit it that it has taken a small scratch out of the chassis (now back in normal position), and the tyre now rubs the arch at some angles, where it didnt at all before, the wing just between the front door and wheel has been hit by the wheel and slightly bent in. i drove it home at about two miles an hour with both front wheels pointing well away from each other! and both were turning fine, not wobbling at all or any sign of being buckled. if anyone has experienced anything similar, or thinks that there might be something more i need to repair other than new steering arms, panhard rod and bumper, than please advise.

thanks - Will

Well heres a pic , whats bent and whats not ? :D

there will be evidently more play in the steering, might not be too obvious until you take it apart or fix everything else thats wrong.

nice pic. yeh as i say only the track rod that i can see, but i think the radius arm may have taken a hit. as the offside one where it joins the axel has a gap between it and the axel, the damage side has a smaller gap :(

i should probably also say i'm running 35" bfg muddies, with caster corrected radius arms and a 2" lift, i'm guessing giving it a lot more leverage to damage things! :(

yea by the sounds of it you might want to check that the radius arm mounting is pushed back a good bit by the impact because from what your saying about the wheel rubbing the wing at some angles, you could have an issue with straightening that out, did the wheel take the brunt of the force?

yeh im pretty sure its not all straight. the bumper took the most part of the force i think, then it slid off that and where the tyres sticking out it caught it and pulled it back with what was left of the momentum.

photos - possibly!
