I have had my freelander for 3 years and have always had this problem. Time to try and sort as i will be selling next year to upgrade. Car losses no oil what so ever. I have had serviced every year and have never had to put a single drop of oil in the car. When driving above 50 all is fine, but if I slow down below 20 or come to a standstill, I get this whiff of oil in the car. It would seem to be smell coming from the engine compartment, the air filter is new and present. Is this common in this car, is the odour leaking in somewhere, can the smell be stopped. It only happens after driving above 50 odd and then slowing right down. I can drive at 70 on a motorway for 4 hours and smell nothing, pop into service station and smell will be there.
