Looking for a quick answer to this.
Today I was in the middle of removing the bottom ball joint from the wheel hub (front driver side). I wanted to turn the wheel back straight as I had had the wheel turned out. I opened the car door (driver side), I got the key out of my pocket so it was in my hand and I lent over to press the start button to turn the ignition on, but not start the engine. As soon a I pressed the start button, the steering turned back to straight(ish) by itself and then the ignition turned itself off!
Now the key and spare key have both stopped working! They won’t lock or unlock any doors, the reset proceedure in the handbook doesn’t work, I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, I’ve tried pulling fuse 17 (5am), Nothing! Totally dead!
