I am thinking of doing a side exhaust and getting rid of the rear silencer. I have got it all planned out but wanted to know what you guys though of them as regarding noise as I use mine everyday and I like the sound of them but will it quiten down when I'm going down the motorway.

You won't notice it if it's out the back, not by the passengers door they give ya head aches lol. You'll hear more noise comming from ya engine than the eggzorst

That's what I wanted to know I will be sticking it at the rear quarter by the back wheel so should be good cheers for quick reply.

I have done mine out the back quarter, with 3" exit looks better and even louder. My system is straight through all the way. If i have the window open and drive with it like that (fuel pump has some minor tweaking) it sounds if someone's just opened the gates of Hell :D. With the window up its noticeable but not that much louder than standard. I have a lot of soundproofing.

That sounds good to me mine has alot of soundproofing so should be ok. I just think they look the alot better than standard and sound alot better.

I loved the sound of my straight through side exsit,

But when I started towing with it I found it was drowning and loud on the motorway, was fine without a trailer on tho.

I used the resonating box that was cut off the wife's golf r32, it's still loud but not as sharp if it makes sence, I'll find a video
