I have the old amigos on and it says it's a shuttle valve issue its intermittent so quite confident it's the wiring in the valve.

I have bought a new shuttle valve for £37 and spliced and soldered new wires out of the back of it at the plug so they are additions to the connector not replacements as per a video I have seen and will attach a link to. The new valve fitted and one wire taken to a good ground and the other spliced into the yellow and green wire I now have constant 3 amigos!!

Removing the wires I have attached In the lights still stayed on!

Swapped the valve back to the original and now I have intermittent amigos!

In disbelief I have fitted the new valve back in and checked again and it's the same, constant lights!

I haven't checked the new valve annoyingly for the resistance but to old valve is ok at 3k 2k 1k with switches down.

Do you think the new valve maybe faulty or should I try cut the yg wire on the plug so it only gets its reading through my new wire?

Thanks!

Oh and this is the guy I followed for the mod

You should measure the resistances on the new swich pack across the wires which you soldered to it cos it's very suspect ... or solder wires to the old SVS... it's not the best way as in the video cos the wires which go into the connector must be cut as well so only the two wires from the switches to be prolonged(those two from the pic).... the YG wire must be cut anyway but if the resistance check fails it won't help

Thanks this is what I was thinking. I'm annoyed i refitted it without checking the switches. Tomorrow I will cut the yg wire and join to it rather than into it then. It can always be soldered back together. If that fails I will take it back out and check the switches! Still odd how the old valve is intermittent on the same plug though.

Thanks

You can check the swithes without removing the pack... undo the wires from earth and YG and measure on those... you should ge 3K as they are and 1K with brake pedal depressed... the 2K reading is not so important cos it's not part of the system self check and occurs only when EBD kicks in... if you get 3K and 1K and still have the amigos on the problem is not there but a wiring issue, contact at the ECU plug or ECU fault

with the old well reading SVS is intermittantly OK cos the problem is in the modulator's circuit hence the necessity of the bypass

Tested the wires off the modded valve and was getting 1.8k! Removed the valve and got perfect readings so snipped off the plug on the shuttle valve and used the 2 new wires and cut off the yg wire out of the plug on the top of the pump.

PERFECT!! Worked a treat. Thanks very much. Seems the fault wasnt the shuttle valve or the wiring in the shuttle valve but the plug in the pump side or wiring in the abs unit.
