Hi all,
This is only my second post, I did the intro thing last weekend if you saw it & if you didnt, Im Stuart from South Yorkshire & I collected my Black SWB 1.8......(I know I know) W reg yesterday after putting a deposit on it last Sat.
Anyway.....I knew it had a fault with the rear window so been reading all the threads about the micro switch, blown fuses, re calibrating the window etc. It turns out that the cable on the regulator have snapped. I cant find owt about this so, Is there a fix? or do I have to buy a full motor/regulator thingy? How much are they? whos the cheapest new?

Also, theres not a great deal of life left in the tyres & they are all different (I dont like that) what do you recommend? It will be doing some mild off roading as I do a bit of fishing when I get chance. It has 16" alloys.

Thanks
Stu

I found the bike brake cable message & looking at the regulator I think its gonna be too much messing about, so whos the cheapest supplier for a new one please??

Hi Rog,
Thanks for that. Ive got my eye on a couple on e bay so if I miss out on them I know Im looking at at least £175 then.....ouch.
I`ll have a look round then as I need one sooner rather than later, Ive got a swimming pool in my boot! Gonna see if I can find a centre armrest type thing too if there is such a thing on the pre 2001 models.

The other way of looking at it is that if you miss out on eBay at least you know you can get it sorted for £175. Sometimes it's worth it if water's getting in...

...especially with the lovely summer we seem to be having at the moment!! ;)

Cheers

£175 THATS DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!

"No you see Mr Dealer you dont understand, I need a part for my rear window, I dont want to re-finance the car"

Go with the brake cable fix, assuming you have checked that it is the cable. Access to the rear door with the trim off is easier than the side doors.

It will only take about two hours of your time to fix and cost you next to nothing.
