Had big end failure so got a replacement engine which was from a earlier distributor type, so I decided to make one engine out of the two by using the block of the donor engine and the head of my engine everything went fairly well and now im well happy with the result

Good for you matey.
MLS,steel dowels and new headbolts?

Did you bother with the stiffer oil rail or not?

Yes mate the replacement engine came with a new clutch and water pump, so I bought a new uprated head gasket, new cam belt and tensioner, new headbolts but didn't bother with the stiffer oil rail

Sorted I dint feel the need for the oil rail neither.

Fitted a PRT after though to stop it gettin thermal shock
