my s2's got a set of 205 x 16 road tyres on the original wheels just now. whats the biggest or best size of chunky off road type tyres i can fit on these wheels?????????
Found the issue of LRO it was January 07 it states for a series that the maximum without modifications is 235 / 85 R16, the maximum with minimal modifications is 285 / 75 R16 and the modification required is suspension.
Though it doesn't state what the modification is.....
I'm sure bigger wheels and tyres could be fitted but then you would have to do substantial work to the suspension, bodywork and possibly the steering. So really all down to how far you want to go!! A reputable wheel and tyre dealer should be able to help....
Remember too that your speedo could also be thrown out if you change the rolling radius of the tyre! (Assuming it works..... )
Yep the deestones are great, got mine fitted a month ago. I went to a pay and play and never got stuck once. Some people say they can be a bit dodgy in the wet. But I have not been out in the rain yet so can't comment.....

I've got them on now and am quite pleased with them but am new to Off roading so wondered if other opinions matched my own.
I fancy some bigger wheels and tyres for serious mud work but will they make much difference?
Those Insa turbo remoulds that paddocks do look mean and effective i must admit, but if they're no better in performance off road than my deestones then i'll save my £300!
Oh yeh, they're pretty poor in the wet on road too, very slippy!
i bought some really chunky colway 7.50 16s and put them on last night. ive got about a 3 inch lift just from these alone!! i dont think i'll be getting stuck this time
what rims are you using?
original spec swb are 5" which is a little narrow for 750's and you might find the tyres are a little pinched
For 750's you should really use 5.5" wide rims (LWB standard spec)
