hi guys its me again.
the fleabay bug struck again last tuesday and i'm now the proud owner of an unregistered series one trialer. c / w rangie axles and a lot of bent panels

the beast.jpg

what do y'all think, aint tinternet great.
its come with a great lump of a V8, now i know its practically illegal for a land rover to run on "bang water" but i've been thinking of putting the lump back in her anyway.
i'll put some pictures of the lump on tommorow if its not as black as a labradors arse when i get back from work.
what i'm looking for guys is help with the following information.
what does a landy have to have done to her to qualify as an ARC approved trialer?
does anyone know where i can get series one panels cheap?also it'll want a new tub for the rear.
can anyone i.d. what type of lump it is (when i've added the pics of course)?
where can i download a manual that'll tell me how to fully rebuild the engine?
do landys really run on petrol ?????????????
looks like the battery box n fuel tanks are in the tub also its plumbed in to take a rad in there. anyone know how this will mount, also what type of rad is best for the V8.
finally how do i go about fully waterproofing the thing. last thing i want, is the smarmy faced git down the road, asking me if my little yellow landy wants a pull out of the puddle its just died in, especially as he drives a ****ty rust coloured suzuki that he's spent about 10 grand and about a thousand man hours trying to make it into one of solihulls finest (wan*er) ( big time)

just use series 2 wings and cut them down, thats what all the guys with trialers up heredo, not sure if you can do it with a tub tho, where abouts are you

yeah, its called a coat, hat, gloves, extra jumper etc
seiously though. anyone know of some sort of book that'll tell me what nut goes where n how tight to put it

Had A Bit Of A Look At The Engine Today
Its Missing The Fly Wheel And A Starter
Anyone Know Where There Is One For Sale
Also Whats A Good Gearbox To Mate To The Engine

Best thing is to ask someone (preferably the scrutineer) in the ARLC Club you want to compete with.
Does it already have an ARLC log book? If not get some one to conform the rollcage is too their specs before you spend any more money or time on it.

Looked into this My Self, You Need a ARC Aprooved Rollcage, Fire extinguisher (powder) and has to be of a certain size, Fuel Tanks in the Back aswell as your battery, 3 Point Harness's And Normally a Towing Chain
There may be more and probably is But These are all I Can remember.

yeah mat its got all the above.
all its missing is the big lump of a v8 thats sat on the brand new engine stand, just waiting for me to get 10 mins spare to look at it, overhaul it n stick it in the big 'ole under t'bonnet

Not quite. Fire extinguisher type is more specific (the average dry powder from Halfords will not do). I don't think the fuel tank has to be in the back, but it must be sealed from the passenger compartment, and that seams to be the only practical way to do it.
Definitely not a tow chain. Chains are banned from ARLC events
I can't over emphasize the importance of talking to, ideally joining, the appreciate club before spending any money. I've lost count of the number of people I've seen who've worked away in other peoples vague advise, only to have there pride and joy failed on something basic at the first event.

If you're trialling with Lincs, make sure your steering is spot on, they seem to like tight turns.
