Fitting a new steering relay to your series Landy
Just be aware that the new relays that you buy today will be a slightly smaller Diameter than the old one you take out.
Todays New steering relays are a slightly smaller diameter than the old originals, so fitting at the top with the 2 bolts is fine that will hold it in place but at the bottom the relay will be a slack fit in it's collar so a new smaller diameter collar needs to be fitted to stop the relay from moving around and causing slop in the steering................... I made my own out of 3 mm plate and fitted it in place of the old collar.
Job done and it works fine.
I believe you can buy a modified smaller diameter collar for somewhere around £37 on ebay but I thought I'd just make my own that way I know it will fit!
I made it to fit the width of the chassis as I might just tack weld it on the 4 corners just for a bit of extra strength.

I've played this game too. The CNC machined collars are available in variable sizes too. Found on eBay. Vernier your relay up before ordering. Else it'll all swing in the breeze. Lose that last bit of slop - pack out with some old feeler-gauges.
