Hi guys and galls I am or 2months later was new to landrovers. I bought a 1975 88 inch s3 in bits. ( First Mistake ) £250 cheep I thought. So I started to rebuild without a Manual (Second Mistake). Ok to cut a long story short would not start. Heater plugs fine. New fuel filter. Fuel pump fine. injectors New. fuel cut off works fine and no air in the fuel lines. it starts fine for a landy and minimal smoke. Runs like a total dream. BUT. The big but. When it gets warm or is left for a week without starting it up it wont start. NO air in fuel lines. The only way to start it up is to bump it off or use the dredded EASY START ( Ether ).
The battery is fine. I went thro 4 tracktor batteries one day. I have been told to advance the pump timing. Which way would advance be is that the direction of the arrow ( eg Rotation of pump arrow.) or opposite. ( Its the old style Distributor injector Pump ). All help is apprieciated.
