Hi guys, I am planning an Overland trip to Africa and am trying to choose an appropriate vehicle. Most people tend to take 110 or 130 but for cost reasons and the fact that I have always dreamt of doing it, I want to take a 109. As experts, do you think it would be possible to buy a 109 for a couple of thousand and then with maybe another thousand to spend on repairs and reliabilty improvements, make a 109 suitable for the job?

Yep
Anythings possibul with money.
And old landies are cheep.
The general advice if your going to Africa is "Keep it Simple"

Mine did it! :D Granted, before I had her... but she did it. 9 months, 1976 S3, from CTown to Sudan and back. And all without a fridge or even a coolerbox.
