Is there anything glaringly obvious that I should look at when looking to buy a series IIa with a Transit diesel engine in it?? And also does anyone know if this makes the insurance more expensive as its been modified? Ta :)
 
Ooh also how serious are the following things........
Rear shock absorber bushes worn.

Floor pan straps corroded, strap that holds body tub to chassis needs replacement.

Excessive play in steering.

Corroded area in bulkhead behind pedals.

g'day thje shock bushes are a dawdle to change as are the straps. the steering could be any thing from worn ball joints to mal adjusted swivels or steering box. as for yer rusty bulkhead its probelly best to get replacement footwells welded in

Anyone got any idea when I put the insurance details in (got the reg no) the year comes out as 1984? The guy says its 1964.........???
 
it could be cos the 64 letter is the same as the 84 letter. they started about 67 i think and after going throu all the letters excepting fur the likes of 'o' and 'i' they went back to 'A'. yud have to check on the net or speak to someone that knows(not me) of course maybe th edude mistoke a 6 fur a 8
 
Ring adrian flux - google for em! They didnt seem bothered about modifications with my s3, rear seats windows snorkle parabolics all seemed to come out the same price! I pay £330 tpft at 23 years old with 1 years ncb and a 5k limit on miles. Hope this helps
