I have recently bought a S1 86" which has a hard top. On the inside of the hardtop, on the ceiling, is really old style what looks like insulation, its basically fibre-glass stuck on the ceiling and hardboard screwed on and painted. To be honest it looks awful but I was told that it could be the original stationwagon lining and I should keep it safe when i take it out the top for the sake of copying it to recreate it.
It also has some of this on the sides where the backs of the seats are - when I removed this, one side was attached with screws, the other side, rivets, (to the metal ledge below windows) the holes used were higgledy-piggledy, and a block of wood was used as a prop at the bottom.
What can I look at to see if it is the original lining of the stationwagon hard top, if indeed this is what it is? The hard top only has 3 windows, 2 long ones at the side and the one in the top part of the rear door. Please help.
Thanks.
Anna
