I've got a 2.25 diesel still in the truck, it's coming out in favour of a 200tdi when I find one I can afford.

How much are you planning on spending?

you'll have to weld on engine mounts (get em from the donor) and there's a fair bit of fiddling iirc :)

keeping turbo on it ,just gona turn boost right down ,ive got a good supply of s3 gear boxs ready for when ,main or lay shaft snap lol,
engine mounts not too bad ,just add one inch on one side and take a inch of other ,alter bottom right hand side of rad frame so steering arm clears ,,drill two extra hole in bellhouseing for gear box ,, chop inside of passenger wing and fab a flat panel,job done lol
 
you going to upgrade the brakes? could use the vac pump, also the 300 has the pas pump
 
got 109 brakes on it now ,got a servo assist pedal box too ,,im leaving pas pump on as its easyer to use it as a pulley ,im going to split pump open remove pump impeller and just fill it with grease ,
 
quite a few people run it as a Di, about 90bhp i think.

I think they run it as Di as its an easier fit
 
it is only easyer with the 200 tdi ,,they remove turbo ,,allso 200 tdi engine mounts are same so no need to make or alter owt ,and no turbo means no intercooler so you can use standard rad
