Ok I am having trouble identifying what spark plug my Series 3 2.25 petrol should have. It has NGK bp5efs in there at the moment. I bought a set of spark plugs from Paddocks Champion but they don't fit. I think it's a high compression engine as the engine no starts with 901 but not sure. I looked up the NGK spark plug finder web page and they say bp5e.
What have you guys got fitted? I would like NGK spark plugs as always found them to be reliable in the past.
Thanks.
Norrie.

I use champion plugs in mine, it's the higher 8.1 compression. They are champion UN12Y. I don't think NGK plugs are as good as they used to be.

I've used Champion RN1\1YC4 plugs in mine, and it currently has Bosch WR7DC plugs fitted. Both work well.

I don't know the CR of my engine for sure. It has the raised boss on top of the cylinder head, but, I haven't found an eight marked on there. The compressions are all 145 psi - good for 7:1, poor for 8:1. As it doesn't burn much oil, I think it's more likely 7:1.

The head has got a raised part but no 8. The spark plugs I got for the hp engine are too large a thread.

Too wide. You know how you get 2 different sizes of plugs in diameter. Is it 14 and 21? Well mine are the smaller of the 2.

You've been given the wrong plugs, I think its safe to say that all 2.25P engines wether there fitted to a s1,2or 3 and even one fitted with a 9.1 comp head will use the same thread size plugs, them plug's you've got sound like they are for a freelander or something as they are sometime refured to as series 1,2 and 3 aswell, just thinking if the parts person has miss heard you when ordering :)

I ordered the original Champion ones from Paddocks. They were listed for a Series 3 hp engine.

Ok my bad. I checked the plugs today and took them our the box. It turns out the thread is the same it's the hex size that is different. So there now fitted. lol.
Nothing to see here move along.
