Google has been my friend again here or my parts manual, Could some please help me my dash panel in need of serious repair and from what i can tell the hot air from the heater blows threw it. Is there ment to be a flap inside to direct it to screen or floor. If so what is it made of (plastic or metal) and where does the control cable conect to it?

yup - flaps to direct screen or floor and hotncold - the controls are at the right hand end of yo dash.

flaps is metal.

Cheers mad, the controls are missing at moment yet another thing on the ebay shopping list. Does the cable connect to the middle so it lifts and drops the flap equaly?

If it's owt like the 90 then the cable runs behind the dash an operates a rod that connects two flaps one at either end of the dash, the flaps are made of thin steel with a foam rubber seal an all they do is stop the air being directed downwards.
 
Cheers will have a look at that tomorrow if I get chance. Dont sound to bad to repair if that all it is :D I had got the dash panels of all ready to work on the bulkhead so that should make it easyer.
 
Cheers mad and grunt, got chance to have a look at the heater dash panel today. 32years of rust. Manged to get the flaps working again, Need a new cable as expected, connects to the drivers side flap. Need some rebuilding but nothing not fixable. :)

Mad have you taken out the plastci tray on the lower dash, there is two screws behind it.

nope - i dint get that far - took out all the bottom screws only. I did try removing the plastic tray and removed enuf to get wiring fed thro the bulkhead, which was what I was trying to achieve tho. Ta.
 
Am I right in thinking the heater and wiper wires go behind dash.

You would have had a heart attack if you had seen the state of what was there. I just ripped it all out. Hence why I have to rewire

Its been 15yrs since I last did a series up so a little rusty on a few things.
Suprising how much seems like I only did it yesterday tho.
