Hi there

I have recently replaced the belt driven fan on my series for an electric thermostat one

Problem I am having is I cannot get the thermostat which sits in the top hose to seal properly ( its the type that uses the spacer with a notch in it )

Are there any other thermostat kits avalable to switch the fan on that don;t use the plastic notched spacer? have trawled the internet but cannot find anything

First post on here hope I am in the right place , let me know

thanks

only problem I now have to overcome is that ythe thermostat supplied wiyth my kit is the copper " torpedo" type now need to source a screw in one any ideas? especially on what is the best temperature for it to kick the fan into life

I am just about to fit a Kenlowe fan on mine. This seems to have a sender bulb which pushes through the radiator fins touching one of the water tubes. I,m not sure what other circuitry goes with it or if it would be worth you giving them a ring (01628 823303)
Is the number I have on my fitting sheet.

Smear silicon round it, worked on our cars for years.

If you go with kenlowe stick the radiator zip tie a likes in the bin they suck!!!!

make your self brackets 2 x 90 degreee at top of rad one across the bottom from side to side.

Much more secure and wont rub you rad to death...

Mr Pornstarmax,

Do you have a photo or two of your brackets, I have a kenlowe I am going to fit sometime in the next month or so?

Cheers

VW passat I think it is, the older one, it has a stat in the top hose and its the same hose size as the series, you could fit a blank to the existing hole and get the vw top hose assy, never done this but seen the mod done, nice and neat.
