Greetings
I have a 1983 Series 3 diesel. It hasn't been used very much in the last 9 months and I am in the process of carrying out a mini restoration.
I am having issues starting it.
Battery is a healthy 12.5V
Glow pugs were tested and were found to all be faulty (Can they all go at the same time??)
I put new glow plugs in and connected them in the same way as the originals and it still didn't start.
We then discovered that the one out of the four new plugs was falling apart, so I have new ones to try tomorrow.
I don't touch the throttle when starting and I have held the engine at cranking speed for at least 15 seconds.
I have also directed a heat gun down the air inlet and that hasn't helped either.
I presume there is a relay in there somewhere. Is this something that can be checked? and easily accessed with out pulling the entire dash apart?
My Landy does have an aftermarket ignition. Looks like it could be from Plant machinery.
I have done a search on here a read a few threads.
I have done a search and reach a few threads on this, but I couldn't find answers to my relay query.
Thanks in advance
