Just took my 109 for mot and the guy says he doesn't think the servo is working, is there any way to test this before I order a new one.

Before starting motor put your foot hard on the brake, start motor and pedal will move down more if servo working.

There is also a non return valve in the servo, these sometimes fail. The diesel can take a bit of careful setting up of butterfly flap in the inlet manifold to work correctly. I gave up on mine and fitted an electric vacuum pump.

Remove the pipe from the vacuum tank after stopping the engine. You will hear the air release if it's working

Could it just be the MOT tester is not used to old land rovers and is comparingnit against a modern car?
