Hi, all, had to replace my rear 109 tank, saw a nice Ali' tank 2nd hand, used measurements supplied, but when fitting in the gap between rear cross member & diff, unsure if the gap between diff & tank is safe, will the travel of axle close the gap when Driving ?
The original tank left about 2.5 - 3 inches, new tank only has about 3/4 of an inch.
Working on a tight budget, so can't get slice taken off the end & re-tig welded to gain extra, but also can't return for refund.
Any help appreciated

Remove the rear shackle brackets from the springs and jack the axle up. If it hits the tank, then you've a problem.
