i have a series 2a ex military,2 1/4 petrol, it had a capillary temp gauge at some point but when i got it, it had been cut, it now has a elec gauge and sender, but on the top of the head there is another sender that is held in with three small bolts, it isnt connected up to anything, i have searched the forum but cant find anything on it, can anyone tell me what it is, thanks in advance

Yup, choke thermostat switch.
If you've got the switch in the choke cable it means the cold start light is only on if the choke is out and the engine is hot.
