hi to all,
iv been driving for 6 months now, sold my pug 306 and bought a series 2a 1971 landy,(£1100 insurance)

right as some will no the heating is very basic,
i was looking on some websites and they are selling artic heaters for series 3's,is it possible to fit one to a series 2a landrover, and how could it be done, where could it go?

many thanks
regards
duggie(17yrs)

i've no idea if it would fit i can only assume it would and in much the same place as on a 3. but as you'll be losing most of yer heat through all the gaps and holes that are built into landies you probelly best to buy a parrafin heater and bolt it to the floor on the passenger side

ok thanks, will that lose passenger foot space?

all im thinking of is the cold winter ahead, and want some sort of heat,
many thanks

duggie

Your arctic heaters fit in the back of yer Landy along the upright bit of the floor (one either side). Thats all I know

How informative of me, WP.

Take a look at some "winterized" military LRs and you'll see that these heaters are VERY VISIBLE - pipes all over the place! I suppose you might be able to fit one without all the elephant's trunk, not really sure. Perhaps someone over on the www.emlra.org forum could help you.

when i wur in the army the only artic heater we had for our landies and bedfords was more jumpers and a thick parka

Yeah, that sounds like the heater I've got in the Unimog :)
