Not long bought a Series 2a and I'd like to understand where the headlights should be located. Presently I have 4 headlights, two inner and two outer which are situated on the wings. I'd prefer them to be on the inside only (as per the old style) and do away with the two outside lights on the wings, but I need to be sure I am restoring to the original spec. My V5 says it was registered in JAN. 1969. So, any ideas where the headlights should be located, inner or outer? Thanks.

Based on this feedback therefore, if my 2a was registered in Jan 1969 (v5) and clearly for the uk market (it's a rhd), I would be within my rights to remove the two headlights in the wing sections if I wanted the 'original' look.

I would imagine you are correct but it's also worth checking the build date as well as registration date when looking to restore to original specs

Your within your rights to put them where you want. I'm sure the lights where moved for other countries regulations and not the UKs so you shouldnt be breaking any laws.

This is our newly accuired s11a we bought the other week 1970 ( J ) plate if it helps
