Right plan to do lots over the next coming months to the Landy. Firstly I want to do some repairs to the chassis so yesterday I fetched out the gearbox.

Hasn’t been driven for at least four years now, but I remember very occasionally it would almost feel like the gear was stuck and no matter how many times I depressed the clutch pedal or pulled on the gear stick I couldn’t shift the gear. This only lasted for a matter of seconds before it then seemed to free up and change smoothly.

Whilst the box is out I’m after some advise on what to look for if this sounds a familiar problem or what sounds likely to be the cause?

Or was I just being a muppet and crap with the gear change?

I’m going to change the clutch but also whilst it’s out what’s worth doing or having a look at befor it goes back in?

Cheers

Could just be lack of use letting the selector rods get dry. Its steel rods in ally so it should loosen up hot.
Change the all the shaft seals, you won't get another chance and they are pennies.
Check the syncho springs.
Look closly at the oil, teeth are a bad sign!
If it wasn't noisy and didn't jump out of gear I'd propbably leave the cluster alone..

On the gear stick housing there is a small bolt in the side of the alloy housing that sits in a groove in the gearstick make sure it is place or else the stick can turn and jam in the selector forks.
