I know this may seem a stupid question to some ... But ... I have a Series 2A engine and apart from the obvious cosmetic things, and the fact that it's a 3 bearing engine and not a 5 ... Will this go straight into my Series 3, bolt up to the gearbox and all without tons of fuss???:)

The only real difference that you have to worry about as S71 said is clutch differences as the clutch release on the boxes is different between some S2s and S3.

I would just use the clutch off the old engine and that will work with the gearbox.

The throttle linkage is different between Zenith and Solex carbs. The arms on the throttle butterflys work in opposite directions, one goes up and one goes down.

Nuffin else that I can think of at the moment.

Thanks for that ... I don't want to do it up and find i have a load of hassel getting it in the landy ... Sorry to be really thick ... You're saying use the clutch off the series 3 and that should be ok?

If you fit the clutch complete from the old engine onto the new one then you should have no problems.
