Hi all, I have my eye on a 1953 series 1 landy. Needs a bit of work and a little more negotiation on the final price. I was intending on doing a ground up rebuild. Anyone out there have any idea what a series 1 is worth. I intend to bring it back to a high standard and renew anything I can get my hands on. It a 2 and a 1/4 petrol.........

Best Regards

To start with it has the wrong engine and almost certainly the wrung gearbox. I believe they must have cut off and welded on new engine mounting, so that will have to be reversed.

Oh dear well thats not good news. I'll have to research it a little more. Should it have a 2ltr petrol fitted or what should it be. Sorry if it seems a stupid question but I'm kinda new to landy's and have been bitten by the addiction bug.

Should be a 2 litre with overhead inlet valves and side exhaust valves. As with all 4 cylinder LRs the exhaust is on the left, but the carb is on the right, unlike the 2 1/4 that has them both on the left.
