Hi all, i have owned many LRs over the years and the best to live with IMO was the TD5 S2 disco as had power and was economical(ish). My life has changed somewhat as of late and i need to use my car more and more so owning a P38 4.0 is getting expensive, im unsure of the markets etc and have a few Q's for you all:

1. Is this classed as a wise move, S2 TD5 instead of P38?

2. What sort of price should i sell my P38 for?

3.What year/spec could i get a S2 TD5 for with £ from Q2

(My RR P38, is 2001(51) 4.0 HSE, oxford blue, 130k, Nappa interior(lightstone), sat nav, good condition, runs sweet etc)

Thanks and apologies if this sounds garbled lol

A Td5 is a good landy but isnt a Range Rover. For the spec you've got on your p38 with the sat nav and the napper seats blah blah blah, you'd struggle to get a top top spec Td5 for the money you'll sell your P38 for i'm afraid.

My impression is rather like Littelwil's above. The TD5 Discoverys are holding their value better than the P38s if you look at what's available on Ebay and Autotrader. Some of the Discos in that age bracket are lower priced but they're a bit worn and maybe didn't have all the optional extra toys when they were new. I'm sure it'll be possible to juggle something. Of course, the headline buy it now and classified ad prices aren't necessarily what things actually sell for as there is often a bit of haggling. But it's probably a good rule of thumb.
