Seems weird, got the engine sorted but it now has a weird problem.

When i put my foot down on my 2.25 petrol at idle, theres a huge sucking noise coming from the air filter, the engine kinda falters, THEN kicks in. Is my timing still out just a teeny bit?

I would say timing being a bit out :) cannot remember which way tho ermmm....... try anti clockwise if that dont work go clockwise :D

tah ian, will fiddle after, first proper test run after re-paint/engine stuck valve problem sorted. so thats only problem, oh and it lists at front passenger side, but thats probs a dead spring. that can be sorted later :D gonna post a piccie on another thread.....

get it running then turn yer dizzy anti-clockwise a bit then turn it slowly clockwise till it just starts to pick up speed and lock it in place.
yer timing will now be correctly set to suit yer fuel and injun

remember that bolt fer locking it in place is a 'pinch' bolt not a 'do the ****er up as tight as yer can' bolt

Ps
Have a look at your carb as on some of them (Weber's) there is a boost pump that puts a extra shot of fuel in when you put your foot down and its rubber diafram does go also check the vacuum advance works and there are no leaks.
